The USA imports $6.2 billion worth of wine
In 2018 the United States imported $6.2 billion (around €5.5 billion) worth of wine, an increase of 4.9% compared to the previous year.
By contrast, imported volumes dropped by 4.6% to 11.52 million hectolitres.
France was the top supplier country (+12.7% in value, +6.5% in volume), followed by Italy (+6.8% and +1.2%), then in third place New Zealand (+3.6%) and in fourth place Spain (+1.5%).
Other major supplier countries saw falls in exports, including Australia (fifth), Argentina (sixth), Chile (seventh) and Germany (ninth).
