Direct engraving of flexo plates and sleeves

The Kodak Flexcel Direct System adopts an original approach to the direct engraving of elastomers for flexo printing, with the objective of improving productivity and print quality, at the same time reducing costs, for all types of substrates.

This system is both for printers and prepress service providers, and is based on the use of a high power, high energy efficient laser engraving technology. Its principal strongpoints are: unique imaging technology using laser diodes; affordable production of high quality continuous sleeves; combination of the of photopolymer with the convenience of elastomer print quality; the capacity to produce both flat plates and sleeves, eliminating the multiple steps of UV exposure and chemical or thermal processing.
