Düsseldorf, 8th-14th May 2014 Interpack
Online registration to interpack 2014 will open in October to close February 28th 2013. Among the already defined theme areas, following previous success, the Innovation Parc Packaging (IPP), that last year featured the relation between packaging and quality of life.
This subject in fact catalysed some of the most successful initiatives of Interpack 2011, including a conference, run in collaboration with FAO, which was attended by over 300 operators and political and economic institutions from around the world. The undertaking, called Save Food, is now also open to the direct contribution of companies and aims to promote the exchange of information and ideas between industry, policy and research, to facilitate the development of undertakings, technologies and products that reduce food waste along the entire production-consumption chain.
The organizing committee of the fair has also decided to revamp the Metal Packaging Plaza, or that is the area, launched during last year's Interpack, dedicated to metal packaging manufacturers and their suppliers. At the same time there will also be undertakings to promote the issues and figures involved in the printing of packaging, starting from the "Pack Plus" show, organized within drupa 2012 over an exhibition area of 300 sqm. Objective: to demonstrate, through concrete examples of primary and secondary packaging specially made by a group of companies, the role played by packaging materials, printing and finishing in supporting a product and a brand.
Friedbert Klefenz, president of Robert Bosch GmbH Packaging Technology, was unanimously elected to the Interpack 2014 presidency, and will be assisted by Christian Traumann (Multivacc CEO) and Bernhard Borgardt (CEO of Ostedruck, President of EuPC and member of other world plastics associations).
