An adhesive for reclosable packs

Avery Dennison has developed a new generation of adhesive, to be used in high performance resealable packaging for personal- and homecare products.

Denominated R1490M, it is particularly suitable for packaging wet wipes because it has a strong resistance to moisture and solvents and therefore enables the pack to be opened and closed up to 60 times. In addition, the producer underlines, it is impeccable in its appearance, allowing the use of reclosable films without hitches and residues on many types of surfaces, including difficult materials such as PET and PP.
Important the economic side. R1490M has been designed to significantly reduce costs without sacrificing performance, ensuring converters improved margins and new opportunities in a variety of packaging applications for home- and personal care products.
R1490M is available in a wide range of filmic facestocks and is also included in Avery Dennison’s Mix and Match service. This adhesive has  BfR XIV approval for dry, non-fat and fatty foods with a reduction factor of 5.1. its low solvent levels also entails a greater sustainability
