Born for labeling cans

Thanks to a closed system and special application heads, the hotmelt spray systems designed by Robatech to provide wrap-around labeling guarantee an accurate and clean metering of adhesive on tins and cans, even at high speeds.

The canning industry has long used roller glues systems for labeling, however, frequent maintenance, the deterioration of the glue and the complexity of format change operations have set limits to this solution. Hence the need of an alternative system, capable of ensuring maximum efficiency, economy of adhesive and reduction of downtime for format change and maintenance. Hence Robatech offers hotmelt systems for wraparound labeler, that ensure accurate and clean application. The technology featured coater head (specifically designed) and the sophisticated electronic control ensure perfect application of the adhesive on bottles and containers, even at maximum speeds.
 
The system for precut labels. Stacked in the magazine, the precut labels are firmly glued on plastic and glass containers. In the initial phase the adhesive is sprayed on the bottle in many small droplets in a spiral pattern, the number of which varies according to the label format. The container, rotating, collects the label from the magazine while the spreader head with adjustable height applies a thin strip of glue to the final edge of the label that, positioned around the bottle, is pasted with precision where the edges overlap.

Accuracy, speed, economy. The new hotmelt spray applicators, like all the Robatech solutions, ensure a considerable saving in adhesives and reduced cleaning times.
Unlike traditional roll systems (closed system with spreader head) Robatech applicators prevent contamination, evaporative emissions and carbonization of the adhesive.
Moreover, the hotmelt spray system facilitates rapid format changeover of containers and labels: ensuring rapid implementation and reduced maintenance. Lastly, the system is fast and easy to integrate on existing lines of applicators.
On this count, Robatech offers a comprehensive solution that includes all the components needed for the retrofit: spray head, spreader head, connections and tubes, a special support system and an integrated control of the application.
