A bottle made from cane sugar
RPC Promens Consumer Nordics has developed Modul, a 1 liter bottle that is completely made out of a bipolymer obtained from cane sugar.
Labeled on all four sides and available with various closure types, Modul has already been adopted by Skånemejerier (a major Swedish milk & dairy producer) for its line of non-homogenized milk, a decision which confirms the the concern’s commitment to ever increasingly sustainable food processing and packaging solutions (as stated by Armina Nilsson, head of Skånemejerier).
According to the concern’s sales director, Thore Bengtsson, the partnership with RPC is also valuable because of the quick deliveries the latter guarnatees, which are essential to this project. It is also worth keeping in mind that an additional process is under development. In a solution unprecedented for the European market, it will enable reducing the amount of polymer necessary for producing each bottle by adding to the mix a mineral integrator, further improving the sustainability of the material, without compromising performance.
