A cobot with high load capacity for the end of the line
Greater load capacity and increased range: Thus the M version of Sidel's CoboAccess™_Pal responds to the growing demand for cobotic palletization.
In low speed lines, the tendency to replace manual palletizing operations with simple and compact cobotic solutions is increasingly widespread - so as to contain the production costs linked to the end of the line and speed up the return on investment.
However, the adoption of these new automation technologies is limited due to their poor load capacity and too small working area. Today Sidel presents its new range of cobots, CoboAccess_Pal M, capable of handling the highest payload in this category.
The new M version of the Sidel cobot is equipped with a Yaskawa HC20 unit that allows a payload of 14 kg and a wide range of 1,700 mm - two factors highly sought after in palletising applications.
«Sidel is the first in Europe to integrate the Yaskawa HC20 cobot into palletising operations. With the new M version, we can now satisfy a wider range of palletizing needs in the food and home and personal care sectors», explains Florian Marlot, Product Manager for the CoboAccess_Pal platform at Sidel.
The solution manages pallets of various sizes up to a maximum of 1,900 mm in height and can perform up to 6 cycles per minute, while still allowing free and safe interactions between the operators and the fenceless cell.
«Cobotics is becoming an increasingly important resource for end-of-line operations - continues Florian Marlot - because it allows to reduce the associated production costs and improves the working conditions of the operators by eliminating very tiring manual activities».
The M version of the CoboAccess_Pal offers high performance with a very limited footprint, while maintaining the functionality of Sidel's tried and tested cobotic palletising platform unchanged. It in fact includes the efficient industrial automation system based on PC and PLC which guarantees high reliability and a quick restart after shutdowns.
Furthermore, the intuitive HMI interface simplifies use as much as possible, while the PalDesigner® software, already in use for many years on various Sidel palletising solutions, allows you to create new formats and palletizing schemes in total autonomy.
