Freedom™adhesive system

Nordson Corporation will show the new Freedom™ system at Interpack 2014 trade show.

The Freedom Integrated Hot Melt Packaging Solution combines Nordson’s innovative, tankless Freedom™ Series hot melt dispensing equipment with Henkel’s high-performance Technomelt® certified, family of adhesives to  help customers contain costs, simplify operations and increase productivity, reliability, and sustainability. Customers employing the Freedom™ Solution derive value in the form of six freedoms, typically recover equipment cost in less than 12 months  and enjoy continued cost savings over the life of the system.                                    
Specifically, the six freedoms include:
• freedom from adhesive availability concerns ;
• freedom from downtime associated with char and contamination;
• freedom from manual adhesive filling;
• freedom from parent machine mounting and integration limitations;
• freedom from confusing controls and diagnostics;
• freedom from excessive adhesive use.

Small reservoir. The Freedom™System has a small reservoir holding just 400 ml , this  means  that when so little material needs to be kept in a molten state, energy consumption is reduced and the opportunity for charring is also reduced. With Freedom™ energy is expended only when it’s required.
Automatic Feeding System. Another innovation of Freedom™ System is the automatic adhesive filling system. The main benefit inherent in this tankless, adhesive application system is the instant “melt-on-demand” principle.
Machine integration. Freedom from parent machine mounting and integration limitations. Saves machine space with vertical footprint and mounting.
Efficient control. In addition, the Freedom™ Melter has an electronic control unit incorporating the EcoBead application control system, which enables to achieve adhesive savings that may be in the range between 30 and 60%. For simple operation and process monitoring, the melter is also equipped with a 7” Optix Touch Screen Panel, which provides detailed diagnostics of the processing sequence.
The dispensing guns also have a proven track record and they have made a name for themselves as the “endurance sprinters” or pneumatic applicators of the MiniBlue II series. The modules are now available with either ball or needle seat. They are fully insulated, work with a minimal switching time of 2 ms and achieve a service life of more than 100 million switching cycles.
