A LCA study for regenerated PVC cores

Since 1958 Laborplast has been producing regenerated PVC cores for wrapping films, membranes and fabrics: a precise choice of field, the latter, thanks to which the company is a competent and reliable supplier of sustainable solution for the application of films and membranes for the packaging industry.

With this in mind, starting from the first months of 2020, Laborplast has launched a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) study, to determine the impact that the production of cores has on the environment.

Laborplast manufactures every year about 8000 t of regenerated PVC cores, with characteristics very similar to those produced in virgin material.

On the other hand, with the same performance, the use of recycled PVC makes it possible to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions into the atmosphere, compared to a production from scratch.

The LCA study will allow us to determine exactly the quantity of environmentally harmful substances saved for each kg of cores produced, considering the entire life cycle of the product.

The Interpack 2021 fair in Düsseldorf (Pav. 10, stand A13), is the perfect opportunity to show the results of the LCA and the other innovations developed by Laborplast.
