Pouch packaging: sustainable and efficient

Latest from Volpak. The company puts in place a new approach to partnership and, on the technological front, offers the high-speed, top-of-the-range HFFS machine SC+ in a "sustainable ready" version.

It can today boast more than forty years of development in product and process innovation, to support a consumer industry that is moving increasingly faster, with a renewed focus on green technologies, efficiency and flexibility.

Volpak, a Coesia company, leader in the design and manufacturing of pouching machines, supports the packaging needs of consumer goods companies with a wide range of technological and sustainable solutions: from high to low speed and with ample flexibility in terms of formats, from “flat pouch” to reclosable “doypack style pouch” with zipper and corner cap options.

SC+, packaging at the top.  The best performing high-speed HFFS machine on the market, the SC+ (now in a “sustainable ready” version), has been already adopted by a global client base.

The SC+ is available for many different formats, such as the 1-liter “doypacks” with corner cap, being capable to reach a speed of up to 280 pieces per minute, boasting features as quick size changeover and the capability to run with recyclable material, ensuring the customers a top performing and sustainable solution.

Together with SC+ we mention other machines, such as the ones based on the SI platform, features all internet 4.0 characteristics needed nowadays, as well as the capability to run recyclable materials.

Last but not least, the Enflex line covers the requirements for fewer volumes, with a series of robust and easy to handle machines.

Achieving sustainability through partnerships. Volpak’s objective is also to highlight and strengthen a new concept of collaboration, which includes the involvement of every player in the value chain, from machine suppliers to packaging material producers to the end customer, in order to develop truly sustainable and added value projects for the society.

For this reason, last year Volpak created the PouchLab, a research and development focused venue, where customers and partners carry out various tests to evaluate different materials’ technology features and to define, case-by- case, the optimal pouch packaging, taking into consideration sustainability, ease of use and shelf life needs.
