Rendezvous at Frankfurt

IMA at Achema with a mega stand and all the most recent proposals of its divisions catering for the pharmaceutical industry.

IMA (processing and packaging machines for pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, tea, coffee and food) will be attending Achema 2012 with a stand of 1,100 square meters, which showcases many of the latest machines and complete lines for the pharmaceutical industry. The Emilia Romagna based group will indeed be taking part in the international trade fair with various divisions of its two big brands Ima Pharma (Active, Life, and Safe) and Ima Industries, with the objective of demonstrating its ability to provide a complete and state-of-the-art response to the most sophisticated needs of the sector industry, from processing to end-of-line.

• IMA Active will exhibit several innovative solutions for the process and production of solid dose products, among which the new S250 Smart tablet press, which combines established technology with the latest controls and an interchangeable turret; the machine has a highly compact design and is operated via a modern intuitive touchscreen control. Also on show the new STYL'One Evolution research press, particularly versatile and easy to use.

• IMA Life designs and builds systems for aseptic processing and freeze drying. At Achema they will be fielding the Sterifill Smart, the ultimate IMA innovation in the range of liquids and powder filling machines. Particularly suited to small to medium batch production, configured to handle glass and plastic vials within the SVP (small volume parenterals) filling range. The machine is completely servo driven and can reach up to 120 vpm (double index) and contemporarily offer 100% IPC of all vials filled; all types of dosing systems can be installed on the machine; the machine is pre-arranged to receive RABS (Restricted Barrier Access System) or isolators. Among the new solutions on display is the Sterifill B8-A, a linear ampoule filling and sealing machine for pharmaceuticals. It can be installed either in traditional class 100 areas or under RABS, and offers an output speed of up to 400 ampoules/minute.

• IMA Safe will be exhibiting several innovative solutions for the packaging of pharmaceutical products. We cite two of them: an integrated blister line under the C80HS-A86 brand, designed especially for the production of medium batches and frequent size changeovers; its innovative and compact design is based on IMA’s philosophy of flexibility in operation.
Another new solution on display is the IMA-PG Super, a high speed blister machine designed and manufactured by IMA-PG India. It has an excellent quality/price ratio and is suitable for the packaging of tablets and capsules.

• IMA Industries lastly, with its BFB division, will be exhibiting an innovative solution for the end of line sector - the MS250 B, a compact, servodriven stretch-bander designed for the pharmaceutical market, and the robotized 3-Axis Pick & Place system manufactured by Gima for pharmaceutical/medical devices assembling.
