RFID for fashion

Tyco Retail Solutions, a global supplier of security and retail performance solutions, has supplied the fashion retailer Inditex Group with an RFID-based inventory intelligence solution for all its POPs.

The system is currently installed in 700 Zara stores in 22 countries, guaranteeing precise real time monitoring of all inventory articles - including style, color and size.

With this system, Inditex has significantly enhanced operational efficiency levels and, at the same time, seen a parallel reduction in lost articles, thus optimizing sales and margins.
The solution employed by Inditex includes hard tags and, at the register, Sensormatic® brand dual RFID/acousto-magnetic technology (RFID/AM) detachers.

Tyco also manages Inditex’s tag recirculation program, with a cost-saving and ecological approach that enables re-using the RFID/AM tags. In such a way, the retailer benefits from all the advantages of RFID-based inventory visibility while at the same time checking missing articles with robust AM anti-tampering technology.
