Technologies for sustainability

A stand at Ipack-Ima, one at Fruit Innovation and two spaces at Expo 2015 to raise consumer awareness of the important role of packaging in preserving food products. Considerable hence Goglio’s investment in highlighting a new generation of proposals for packaging solid and liquid products, fresh or processed, with an eye to sustainable progress and protecting the environment.

Shelf life, sustainability and a 3D room
For the various segments of the fresh fruit and vegetables sector, in which it is expanding its offer, the Goglio group presented an innovative packaging solution, already used for strawberries and grapes, which integrates an antimicrobial component capable of extending the fruit’s shelf life. «At the Fruit Innovation stand - commented Nadia Pante, marketing manager aseptic products, after the event - we enjoyed many visits, exceeding our expectations in terms of quality».
At its Ipack-Ima stand, Goglio presented numerous novelties covering its entire range of materials, from biodegradables and compostables to ultra high-barrier alu-free and coffee capsules. A futuristic 3D room was also set up in order to present packaging machines for solids and liquids in three formats. Goglio also announced new lines for capsules that will be launched at the next Host (Milan, 23-27 October 2015). Nadia Pante and Elena Demo, marketing manager dry products, expressed satisfaction with the interest shown by visitors, but they also reported less traffic than they had hoped for: «Most visitors were Italians, a comforting sign for the Italian economy, but the foreigners were rather missed. Ipack-Ima remains an extremely worthwhile fair, and this year it offered numerous new and exciting proposals; probably, however, the proximity with other events with a wide scope did us no favors, and it may be that the Expo itself drew time away from the working visits».

Goglio active pouches extend fresh fruit shelf life without adding any preservative or additive.

Education at Expo
Concepts and colors tied the concern’s Ipack-Ima stand to that set up at Expo 2015, where Goglio presides over the “Cibus è Italia” Federalimentare pavilion, sharing how the various preservation techniques prevent food waste, but Goglio is also present at the cluster dedicated to coffee, with a tabletop machine for packaging mixes toasted on-demand in 100% compostable bags, also supplied by Goglio.
«Goglio is proud to be Italian and Lombard, and at the same time international, with branches worldwide - the two marketers emphasized - and proud to be offering flexible packaging systems capable of preserving the integrity, hygiene, taste and aroma of food products».

«At Expo we want to explain to consumers what packaging is, how fundamental it is for proper preservation of food products and that sustainable packaging is possible», Demo continues. «We organized some events in the coffee cluster during which we will explain how a coffee bag is made: the production phases, the use of biodegradable raw materials and the features that the packaging must have in order to protect the excellence of this kind of product» «In other words, we want to remind all that food is life, and show, with the help of stories and concrete examples, that an unpackaged food is a food that could be lost».
