Italian made technology for the US market: Sitma, an Italian company based in Spilamberto (Modena), specializes in the design, construction and marketing of machines, systems and complete lines for automation used in the Post-Press, DM / Transpromo, e-Logistic and Packaging sectors.

This last market in particular represents one of Sitma’s “pillars,” showing the most expansion and therefore representing the core of its business strategy.
The US market, characterized by large volumes of consumption and heterogeneous and diversified types of packaging, represents a particularly exciting area for the company’s business. The US branch, founded in 1980, has recently been the subject of an important organizational and cultural renewal operation, which led to the appointment of a new general manager and hiring of new professional experts.

Frozen Food
The Sitma 8002 model is one of the most advanced solutions for wrapping pizzas and other frozen foods available on the market. The machine offers excellent production performance, which combines with ergonomic, modular design, and stainless steel construction, in line with the requirements of hygenic design. The exclusive advantages offered by Sitma 8002 are the possibility to pack pizzas directly inside a special multilayer film, thanks to a special air welder able to carry out welding even in a lateral position, to keep the faces of the packs clean, and that is available for branding and communication needs. This innovative feature enables the weight and volume of the packs to be reduced, ensuring significant savings for the end customer.

Tissue and multi-application
Sitma’s 1002 series, highly appreciated by the market, is ideal for the packaging of multiple products: from multipack detergents to disposable products (plates, glasses, etc ...), to paper rolls in the tissue world. It processes rolls in single (max diameter 300 mm) and double (max diameter 240 mm) packs. Extremely flexible and fast (in the configuration for rolls of 180 mm diameter it reaches 80 pieces/min), it is able to work with different wrapping materials.

e-Commerce
The intralogistics sector, strongly influenced by the increase in purchases through e-commerce, is an area in which the company has been able to invest and innovate in a manner that is consistent with its tradition, offering systems that can respond perfectly to the main needs of packaging, collection, sorting and distribution of envelopes and small parcels. In this context, Sitma’s flagship solution is e-wrapper, a packaging machine with specific film for e-commerce applications: simple, competitive and convenient, it is able to supply products of variable length in the same production cycle and to interface with the customer’s ERP system.
