Kraft fibre and special plastic drums

Innovations from Invernizzi for the pharmaceutical and chemical markets (and beyond).

In a market where quality and sustainability are increasingly important, driven by European Union packaging regulations, there is a strong demand for environmentally friendly, recyclable, reusable and single-component packaging. Drawing on nearly a century of industrial tradition, Invernizzi SpA is ready to take on the challenge of sustainability with its new range of plastic and kraft fibre drums, designed to meet the highest sustainability standards in full compliance with the regulations and market demands.

Invernizzi SpA now operates on an 8000-square-metre production site, with ample green spaces and yards covering over 22,000 square metres of land in Trezzano Rosa (MI). The existing plant is now complemented by a new 3000-square-metre production facility, set to become operational by the end of 2024. This new facility will feature a 1400-ton injection moulding machine designed to produce new types of square and rectangular plastic drums with a patented sealable closure that optimises space efficiency.

A long industrial history.

Founded in 1935 as Segheria Meccanica Invernizzi, which later became Imballaggi Invernizzi, the company initially specialised in manufacturing crates and various other products in wood. After World War II, the joinery transitioned to producing plywood drums, which were manufactured in its historic Milan factory until 1980. In 1976, the Invernizzi family expanded their production area with a new 800-sqm building in Trezzano Rosa, where they began producing various types of kraft fibre drums. In addition to standard circular models ranging from 18 to 450 litres, the company now produces round and square all-paper drums. The traditional production was complemented by an innovative addition: conical, rimmed and all-paper drums. In 1998, the company further advanced its technology with the installation of an 800-ton injection moulding machine, designed for producing plastic drums for the containment and transport of PTFE (Teflon).
