Symbiosis Pick: anthropomorphic robot
For an important company in the food sector that operates in the segment of legumes and dry cereals, Lancia Srl has created an innovative machine that integrates the basic structure of a case packer with an anthropomorphic robot.
Extremely versatile, it is designed to handle products of different types and sizes, by solely and easily replacing (manually or automatically) the gripping tool. The remaining format change operations are performed electronically, thus eliminating waiting times.
Characterized by compact overall dimensions, the machine guarantees high levels of productivity (average speed of 25 cycles/min).
The need to box bags of legumes or dry cereals, which arrive from the conveyor belt in a horizontal position and must be placed upright in the cartons, has determined the choice of using an anthropomorphic robot capable of performing these operations with maximum precision and flexibility of movement.
Industry “4.0” and attention to sustainability. To complete the supply of the machine, Lancia offers an after-sales service with remote control and remote assistance functions, which make it possible to check the operation of the system, diagnose any faults, update the software and, possibly, make functional changes, without the need to send technicians on site. This ensures maximum timeliness of intervention and rapid resolution of problems.
In line with the most advanced construction standards of Lancia and compliant with the requirements of Industry 4.0, the solution allows users to attain a completely automated and interconnected production.
Finally, a reminder that the machine is designed according to sustainability criteria, so that the materials used are recyclable: the processed cartons, in particular, are closed with a “hot melt” gluing system, in order to avoid the application of adhesive tape, which is difficult to dispose of.
