Gluing technologies for the printing industry
Process optimizations, short setup times, and automations are very important in the print industry.
These aspects are the center of attention of all Robatech products and developments. At Drupa - the “hub” for modern gluing technologies - Robatech presents the future of adhesive applications.
«The production of print products is pure contract manufacturing. The production process is determined by numerous customer requirements and often tight delivery deadlines» explains Kevin Ahlers, Marketing and Communications Manager at Robatech AG. «For adhesive application, this translates into simple and fast format adjustments and immediate production starts».
Solutions on show
In hall 6, booth D60, Robatech will present numerous innovations, in addition to proven products, such as the application heads of the Diamond series and the Concept melters.
• One of the highlights is the newly developed RobaPUR 2 MOD tank melt system: thanks to the MOD (Melt on Demand) technology supporting timed production, the unit is extremely flexible. The delivery capacity of up to 50 kg/h available at short notice is decisive for the bookbinding process.
• For efficient cold glue processing, the new generation of electrically operated cold glue application heads of the ECX Platinum series (1) is presented as well. It combines highest switching frequency with maximum service life for optimized adhesive application in the print industry.
• In autumn of 2015, Robatech introduced the FK IT series (2)with mask technology into the market (for more flexibility during surface coating). This series is also presented in detail at drupa. Using the masks integrated into the coating application nozzles, the application pattern can be flexibly adjusted to the production requirements.
• For cleanly and quickly bonded books, the Swiss multinational offers the SpineCoat and SideBead application units designed for PUR hot melt adhesives and particularly suited for retrofits of bookbinding machines and clean bonding of spines.
