Rana raises the salaries of its 700 employees
Gian Luca Rana, CEO of the Verona-based pasta producer Giovanni Rana, has unveiled a special plan to boost its employees’ salaries by a total of €2 million.
In response to the non-stop food production measure introduced in the latest Prime Ministerial Decree, the company decided to award the 700 workers at its five Italian plants a 25% pay increase for each day worked plus a €400 monthly allowance for childcare expenses.
The plan, which runs retrospectively from 9 March, will also cover the month of April. The company has also taken out an insurance policy for all workers, including those engaged in smart working, to cover the risk of COVID-19 infection while at the same time strengthening the safety and prevention procedures already put in place by the company to deal with the current emergency.
Other important initiatives have been launched to support the public health service, including a recent donation of €400,000 by the CEO for the purchase of ventilators.
