Semi-transparent trays ... a feast also for the eyes

The ETIMEX Primary Packaging GmbH of Dietenheim, which has also been present on the Italian market for years, has developed a valid alternative to ready meal trays in black, white or two-color CPETs, usually used for baking convenience foods but with a limit: by their nature, in fact, they do not show the content.

ETIMEX 's R&D department has therefore developed a new CPET formula which, in addition to guaranteeing the recyclability of packaging, allows the creation of translucent and semi-transparent trays that facilitate visual inspection of food: a sure competitive advantage in retail and above all, towards consumers and their purchasing choices.

«Because food is also for enjoyment with the eyes, with our translucent CPET tray we offer consumers the chance to actually see what they buy» points out Martin Rank (sales and marketing director of ETIMEX Primary Packaging).


With an attractive design, the packaging maintains the characteristics of the crystal polyester: resistant to temperatures from -40 °C to +220 °C, it is suited forconventional ovens and microwaves; it can also be used in pasteurization processes and ensures excellent weldability. With an extra feature: the translucent CPET trays can in fact be easily detected during the waste selection phase, creating new quality products.
