The Meduno, Pordenone-based frozen pizza producer has obtained Enel X White Certificates after completing an energy-efficiency intervention on its deep-freezing tunnel.
The investment will bring savings of around 1.7 million kWh a year, equivalent to 600 tons less CO2 emitted to the atmosphere.
The deep-freezing tunnel is capable of lowering the temperature of products from ambient temperature to -25°C in about 30 minutes.
The company has a large photovoltaic plant that produces 1.2 million kilowatt hours per year and its remaining energy requirements are met by IRGO and GSE certified producers which harness the hydroelectric power of Italy’s large rivers.
