Sustainable marking
Environmental performance control of production sites; eco-design; sustainability of products throughout their life cycle; ISO 4001 certification of all facilities; commitment to social responsibility.
These are the pillars of the sustainable growth policy of Markem-Imaje, which for 2013 projects substantial enhancement of the environmental performance of its production sites.
The changes will affect five areas - energy efficiency, waste output, water consumption, pollution control and that of CO2 emissions - with the objective of achieving a 2.5% reduction of VOCs released into the atmosphere and a 20% reduction in waste output, as well as water and electricity consumption. At the same time, the Dover group concern is working to update a range of marking and coding solutions including all types of laser, inkjet, heat transfer, print&apply and thermoplastic resin jet technologies for small and large characters, not to mention process management software. Among other solutions presented at Ipack-Ima was the Colos 5.0 system, which enables online management and optimizing all marking and coding operations, as well as product information verification. Centralized data management and reduced human intervention enable drastic reductions in the number of errors and guaranteeing absolute product traceability.
