Among the competitive advantages of its offer, a customer service that supports users in the ordinary and extraordinary management of compressors, providing qualified advice to ensure the optimized integration in production processes, based on the specific needs and specific characteristics of each industrial concern. In addition, Atlas Copco offers support and assistance in accurately planning a targeted program of preventive maintenance to be performed annually to ensure the full efficiency and operational continuity of the plants

Planning... to save money
If properly managed in the business planning stage, the expense item dedicated to scheduled maintenance has, as a rule, a very low weight in relation to the total expenditure, against that avoiding the much more onerous costs than possible emergency measures, that need to be carried out urgently, in the event of breakdowns or unexpected failures. Hence, it is a “smart” investment that ensures important concrete and economic advantages in the medium-to-long term: energy savings, containment of management costs, prevention of production stops, against an overall increase in plant profitability.

How to plan compressor maintenance
There are many factors that must be borne in mind to better plan the maintenance of compressors within an industrial plant ... Here are the main ones:

• Type of compressor. Each technology presents peculiar criticalities: A lubricated compressor, for example, unlike an oil-free one, requires frequent oil changes...
• Age and degree of use. The necessary annual maintenance is directly proportional to both factors.
• Critical environmental conditions. In very dusty environments, for example, the filters become clogged faster and must be replaced periodically. Similarly, the heat exchanger in the cooling system may need more frequent washes.
•  Operating cycles. If the production is seasonal, the maintenance plan must be organized accordingly.
•  Auxiliary components (Dryers, filters, etc ...). They must be maintained with the same regularity, or even more frequently.
