Sales in Southern Europe, the Middle East and Africa (27.1% of the total) grew by 5.3% to €498.7 million, largely due to healthy performances in Italy (+5.8%) and France (+14.2%). Northern, Central and Eastern Europe (21.4% of the total) stood at +8.8% (€393.8 million), with Germany at +3.3%, the UK at +39.6% and Russia at +11.9%.
By contrast, sales in the Asia-Pacific region (7% of the total) performed fairly modestly (+0.8%) at €128.5 million.
The brand that made the biggest contribution to the results was Aperol (+20.5%), with double-digit growth in its three largest markets (Italy, Germany and the United States).
During the presentation of the results, the Campari Group’s board of directors also announced the group’s intention to transfer its registered offices to the Netherlands. One of the aims of this operation, which will be completed by July 2020, is to adopt a flexible capital structure and thereby enable the company to maintain and strengthen a solid equity base and pursue external growth opportunities.
