Nestlé joins the fight against the coronavirus

Swiss food giant Nestlé is working “tirelessly” to ensure that the food supply is maintained in the battle against the coronavirus.

The multinational has introduced enhanced safety measures at all its sites, with a focus on frontline workers in its factories, distribution centres and quality labs.

Nestlé is also putting in place “generous” sick leave arrangements, cash loans for those in financial distress and much more.

The company will also support local relief efforts in the communities where it operates, including support for charities, medical institutions and other organisations on the frontline of the pandemic such as the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).

It will donate food and bottled water, deploy its logistic capabilities to support the needs of the IFRC and donate CHF 10 million (€9.5 million) for the worst hit areas.
