Schaeffler Group donates 1 million euros to the Red Cross
The German Schaeffler Group, a global supplier in the automotive and industrial sectors, and the Schaeffler family have jointly donated one million euros to the Red Cross to help in the fight against COVID-19.
This is the second major donation after the one made in February when the group donated 800,000 euros to Chinese first responder organisations and Red Cross activities in China.
“With our donation we want to express our gratitude and respect to the doctors and medical nurses who are doing superhuman work in the fight against Covid-19,” said family shareholder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Schaeffler AG, Georg F. W. Schaeffler.
In 2019 the company posted a turnover of around 14.4 billion euros. Schaeffler is one of the world’s largest family-owned companies with around 87,700 employees, 170 locations in more than 50 countries, and research centres and trading companies. In 2019, it registered about 2,400 patents, making it the second most innovative company in Germany according to the German Patent and Trademark Office DPMA.
