The Cibus and Tuttofood alliance is sealed
On 9 March, the agreement between Fiere di Parma and Fiera Milano was sealed, aiming at an integrated management of trade fair events linked to the agrifood sector: Cibus and Tuttofood.
The resolutions passed by the Fiere di Parma shareholders’ meeting and by the Board of Directors of Fiera Milano establish a new management strategy for two of the main trade fair organisations operating in Italy. Th operation will be implemented through the subscription of an increase in the share capital of Fiere di Parma reserved to Fiera Milano, to be released through the contribution of the company branch of Fiera Milano relating to the “Tuttofood” event in the agri-food sector organized in Milan in the Rho district, for an equivalent value of around Euro 16.5 million.
The parties have established that, to complete the operation, Fiera Milano will initially hold a shareholding of 18.5% in the share capital of Fiere di Parma. Fiera Milano will then become the second private shareholder of Fiere di Parma, after Crédit Agricole Italia, which holds 26.44%, together with Unione Parmense degli Industriali, with a stake of 6.88%. The operation consolidates an agreement between the private shareholders that have led the Parma company over the last 14 years and who will manage both the events with Federalimentare, Cibus’s historical partner.
There is also the involvement of public shareholders: the Municipality and Province with 15.97 % each, the Emilia-Romagna Region, which holds 4.15% and the Chamber of Commerce, with 9.78%.
Growth strategies
The integration of two strategic exhibitions for the agri-food sector, the Emilian Cibus and the Milanese Tuttofood, is an important lever for development, able to convince an even bigger number of exhibitors to choose our country as a trade fair showcase, compared to other sites in Europe and in the world. The new set-up offers a series of converging events such as the “educational and Factory&Terroir Tour” planned in Parma in odd years and a global and “contemporary” showcase with a rich “Fuori Salone” in Milan in even years.
The high point of the programme are the actual events, with “Tuttofood powered by Cibus” planned in Milan, which is promoted as an international event supporting the domestic supply chain and a point of reference for an exhibition audience from all leading countries in agri-food production, and “Cibus” held in Parma, with its status as an iconic event for Made In Italy foods of excellence and for its territories.
