Compact, powerful and precise actuators
Developed by WITTENSTEIN alpha, premo® is a new high performance, fully scalable and modular servo actuator platform.
The new generation of premo® servo actuators proposed by WITTENSTEIN alpha, stands out for its screw-free design that ensures optimum cleaning, maximum design flexibility, doubled power density with minimum space, greater productivity and optimized energy efficiency, also thanks to digital single-cable technology.
Modular and customized configuration. Motors and gearboxes with power characteristics commensurate with the application can be configured individually in motor-reducer units, in an absolutely modular way, with unprecedented scalability.
With the three different SP Line, TP Line and XP Line outgoing interfaces it is possible to configure the premo® servo actuators in an optimal way, according to the different performance levels required by the specific application.
A wide variety of encoders, lubrication systems, temperature sensors and parking brakes are also provided to offer maximum flexibility for mechanical and electrical integration.
All this translates into great design freedom for a multitude of applications, without the need for additional special solutions.
Less space, more performance. The premo® platform servoactuators have been specifically designed to optimize space.
The reduced dimensions considerably simplify integration even where the mounting spaces are particularly restricted, as in the case of robots, automatic manipulators, machine tools, increasingly compact filling and packaging lines.
The geometric assembly interface on the machine can be realized with different gearbox variants, while the electrical interface offers a very wide selection of options, thanks to a range of voltages up to 750 V and to the numerous analog and digital encoders.
Compared to the TPM + series of rotary servo actuators, the performance of the premo reaches higher torques and performances in smaller dimensions.
Integrated energy efficiency. The premo® platform takes advantage of all the WITTENSTEIN motion control experience in sizing with high energy efficiency, combining epicyclic reduction gears with an efficiency of 97%, with servomotors that reach a 92% efficiency.
With minimized moments of inertia thanks to the elimination of the shaft coupling, premo® servo actuators always guarantee maximum energy efficiency, regardless of size.
Added to this is the fact that the digital single-cable technology for power supply and data transmission between the motor and control requires only one connector and only one connection cable. This helps to halve the necessary wiring, with consequent possible reduction of the mass, or weight, in mobile drives, for example when premo® is integrated in robots or mobile structures of the machine. The result is a kinetic energy saving and greater energy efficiency for the entire drive line.
Machine safety: an added value
The premo® servo actuator is at the forefront also in terms of functional safety: digital encoders with EnDAT 2.2, DRIVE-CLiQ or HIPERFACE DSL® protocol are suitable for applications up to SIL2 according to IEC 61508.
With this platform, therefore, machine builders and end users operate in complete safety and are less at risk of malfunctioning of the new encoders. A further guarantee is given by the increased braking torque, with a reduction in the emergency stop stroke and greater operational safety, for example in vertical axes or in case of corrosion of the parking brake lining.
