Excellent results for printing and converting machines
After +8.7% in 2017, the turnover of the sector under Acimga grows by 10% and, today, based on the preliminary results released by the Association, is worth 3 billion euros.
We reiterate that the turnover derives for more than 60% from exports (1.84 billion) and, therefore, after the slight slowdown of -0.3% in 2017, the sector welcomes +7.6% of exports in 2018: a figure this that confirms how much the machines for the graphic, paper and converting industry produced by small and medium Italian companies are appreciated abroad.
The domestic deliveries of Italian producers are also showing a double digit growth, whose sales on the Italian domestic market total 1.15 billion euro, with a leap of 14.2% compared to last year.
A boom in imports of machinery from abroad was also recorded, with an increase of +21.7%: At first glance the data might suggest an invasion of foreign machines on the domestic market, but in truth, foreign production continues to meet just over a third of Italian needs, while two thirds of domestic consumption is catered for by Italian concerns.
