Walki Group acquires Plastiroll and broadens its offering of sustainable packaging solutions

Walki Group (Finland) has signed a definitive purchase agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of Plastiroll, a Finnish producer of sustainable packaging material (bioplastics, recyclable dispersion coated fibre-based packaging, biodegradable and compostable bags and films, and coatings for cardboard and paper).

Plastiroll, owner of the well-known brands Bioska and Hauska, employs around 90 people at two manufacturing facilities near Tampere, Finland and generates a turnover of €31 million.

Walki Group is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of technical laminates and protective packaging materials for markets as diverse as construction membranes and barrier packaging applications. The Group has production facilities in Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, the UK, Russia and China and a workforce of around 950 people. In 2018, it posted annual sales of €317 million.
