Complete packaging solution for e-commerce orders

Three years ago, commissioned by Åland Post Ltd (postal operator of the Finnish archipelago of the same name), Sitma created the first e-Wrap, a new packaging machine that responded, ahead of its times, to the emerging needs of online commerce.

At All4Pack Paris the company offers the even more efficient 2.0 version, which creates packages of variable sizes with different types of film, integrating and automating advanced processes.

The solution, in short. The e-Wrap 2.0 concept upstream involves the order fulfilment and the automatic pick-up by robots of packages from “racks” (drawers containing orders to be packed and shipped). A special feeder engineered by Sitma also enables the inclusion of paper inserts (invoices, documents or other material) into the packaging, without the need to use glue.
Subsequently, the packaging machine, which operates vertically, wraps packs of different sizes and shapes with customized films, quickly executing cutting, welding, weighing and labeling operations. Finally, downstream of the process, the e-Wrap integrates perfectly with the sorting systems, flagship of Sitma’s product offer, which conclude the packaging  handling  cycle, from picking to final shipment.
