When innovation is sustainable
From clothing items to pharmaceutical cases, from the logistics sector to the food and beverage sector... Many are the technological solutions developed for product packaging by DCM, which operates in the world of industrial packaging with customized and increasingly “green” proposals.
The experience gained in almost 50 years of activity and continuous innovation have led DCM to be a point of reference for different product sectors.
According to President Alessandro Casiraghi, «It is extremely important to constantly listen to customers’ requests and follow market trends; today we are asked to study and design innovative systems for handling, processing and packaging from a green perspective, and we have taken this path of development with extreme conviction».
Proposals in step with the times
The market’s orientation toward the use of recyclable materials in packaging production is among the significant changes that DCM’s solutions know how to address, not divorced from the design of ad hoc automated systems for dispensing and transporting products.
Eco-sustainability is thus an integral part of DCM’s DNA, which has added new e-commerce and logistics solutions to its portfolio, as well as specific innovation for the pharmaceutical and food sectors.
Optimizing e-commerce and logistics
«Consumers are paying more and more attention to the packaging of shipped items; and our systems are able to use a recyclable material such as paper to meet this demand» Casiraghi further emphasizes.
Prominent among the solutions developed in this regard, therefore, are Papertec and Smart-pack: two fully automatic systems for packaging in paper envelopes, which are gaining great interest in the e-commerce arena.
These lines can package items of different sizes, apply a shipping address, and close the envelope totally autonomously to make it available for the next logistics step. Among other features, these systems save valuable resources, space in the outgoing goods warehouse, as well as contain disposal costs.
Alternatives for pharma and food&beverage
In the pharma sector, DCM brings real innovation by offering a newly developed cardboard tray, which enables the replacement of classic thermoformed plastic trays.
In collaboration with the house represented Kraus, it has in fact conceived a machine that, through a coupling and folding system, makes cardboard trays that have from two to six cusps, suitable to accommodate syringes, vials and flasks, typical products of the pharmaceutical sector (but also food & beverage).
Finally, we would like to remind you that, in the food industry, Kraus dispensers have been used for years to dispense various products, such as cardboard trays and cutlery, straws and single-serving sachets, guaranteeing high and consistent productivity over time.
«Our goal is to support companies that focus on green packaging. Providing machinery to make and distribute products in environmentally sustainable material was and is one of our goals - Casiraghi concludes - and we will continue to work in this direction, developing increasingly cutting-edge systems».
