Automation 4.0 with an orange face
Leading control and automations systems provider B&R is participating at SPS (Hall 3, Stand F031-G028) with a “smart stand” completely dedicated to Industry 4.0: smart, networked solutions for efficient and sustainable manufacturing, to the benefit of quality, safety and personalization.
B&R is proposing numerous innovations at the SPS fair in Parma, among which SuperTrak, a smart manufacturing industrial conveyance system; the X90 mobile automation control system, which can manage and network machinery in motion; mapp Technology modules for executing sophisticated controls with just a few clicks, facilitating diagnostics and service; mappView widgets for the creation of modern web interfaces that are intuitive and personalized; Orange Box (for converting legacy machines into networked smart factory systems); as well as cloud solutions for factory & process data collection, management and analysis.
Highlight at the fair. Also on show is the new 3100 series of industrial PCs, available in an ultra-compact shape factor PC box version (Automation PC 3100), as well as one with a replaceable display (Panel PC 3100), which can be scaled with panels of any dimensions.
Both solutions combine the advantages of reduced bulk with the performance of the latest Core-i processors.
These new industrial PCs offer a high degree of modularity thanks to myriad communication options: two slots for serial interface circuits can accommodate Ethernet, CAN and POWERLINK (the slots can also be used as a UPS solution or audio interface).
Also available on board are two Cfast memory units with format up to 256 GB. Cfast circuits can be used with RAID for on-board backup.
The processors are based on 7th generation Intel Core-i technology, and the entire range can be scaled, from Celeron to Corei7. All versions are fanless, so these industrial PCs have no rotating parts, which are particularly prone to wear.
Thanks to its combination of high performance and a compact format, the 3100 series lies between the ultra-compact 2100 series and the high end 900-910 range.
Machine builders can now precisely tailor an industrial PC according to the demands of each application and the preferences of the end customer.
Automation PC 3100 is designed to control remote panels, while Panel PC 3100 can be used in combination with any automation panel of 10.1’’ or larger, in order to make a complete PC + panel solution. The options range from a VGA 4:3 display to full HD widescreen panels, both mono- and multi-touch.
