Dust detection

Fike has expanded its offer of systems designed to protect and isolate industrial installations from explosions of dust and gas, presenting DustEx, a detector for the food, chemical, pharmaceutical and metal powder sectors that enables detecting dust in a flow.

DustEx can be installed, for example, on the clean air line of a dusting system in order to detect anomalous increases in the level of (explosive) dust present in the air stream, recording the presence of particles as small as 0.3 µm.
The measurement system is based on induction: the particles in movement are detected by 316L sensitive element located on the end of the probe.
LED indicators signal in real time the status of the process in relation to the set threshold, and the alarms can be transmitted to a PLC to perform emergency halts to the process.

Main characteristics: range of measurement: 0.1mg/m3; probe length from 185 to 250 mm for tubing from Dn 80 to DN 600; processing temperatures up to 250 °C; pressures up to 200kPa with relative humidity up to 95%; minimum speed of 4m/sec; Atex 22 certification for one of the two models. DustEx is equipped with a tri-clamp attachment kit for connection to the process.
