  • Amaplast: Made in Italy and the Russian recovery

    +109%: This the increase in Italian exports of machinery, equipment and moulds for plastics and rubber to Russia in the first nine months of 2017, as compared to the same period in 2016, according to the calculations of the Centro Studi di Amaplast (Confindustria member sector association that groups together more than 170 manufacturers) on foreign trade data published by ISTAT.

  • A “Hackathon” for innovating paper

    Last 24 October the Mondi group (integrated producer of cellulose materials and packaging) welcomed 50 Phd students and researchers from 20 European Universities and higher education institutes for a first “Mondi Speed Data Hackathon”, challenging them to explore the reality of big data and draw up innovative concepts, capable of furthering the progress of the paper industry.

    According to the data of the Istituto Italiano Imballaggio (data and final balance), 2016 closed with + 3.2% growth, with global production reaching 15,867 t/000. Exports are stable while imports grew by 7.5%, reaching 1,920 t/000.
    Apparent consumption, standing at 15,079 t/000, grew by 4.4%.
