  • Danish Crown awards Ishida

    Weighing and packaging equipment specialist Ishida Europe has attained preferred supplier status with the Danish Crown Group, one of the biggest international pork and beef producers, which includes the market-leading Tulip, Plumrose and Sokolow brands.

    Oreal Americas and Avery Dennison have teamed up to assess and reduce the environmental impact of the labels affixed to the packaging of the beauty multinational, for this purpose reconsidering the entire lifecycle of the product.
  • Simei relaunches with Ministry funding

    Simei has been acclaimed a showcase event for the promotion of Made in Italy and will thus receive funding from the Italian Ministry of Economic Development, as part of the strengthening of the Italian trade show sector: 48 million in 2015, more than ten times the average of the past five years.
  • Food consumption: the scenario improves

    Italy’s gross domestic product is predicted increase by 0.7% in 2015 and 1.1% in 2016, supported by a recovery in consumer spending; Italian exports are predicted to show further growth, in turn, imports will grow driven by “slight recovery”, though without offsetting the current balance of trade.

  • The Private Labels in Bologna

    The own branding fair Marca was held on 14 and 15 January 2015, registering growth in figures compared to the previous edition: 6,886 professional visitors (+4.3%) and 481 exhibitors (+6%).
  • Expo Patronage

    Expo2015 has given its patronage to the international Food Contact Compliance conference, promoted by Istituto Italiano Imballaggio. The second edition of the international meeting dedicated to training and updates on food contact materials will be held from 23- 25 September next, at Baveno (VB).
  • Awaiting Ipack-Ima

    The intense international promotion fielded by the organizers of Ipack-Ima 2015 is offset by the stages of technological insight, that are featuring in the months leading up to the big engagement scheduled 19 to 23 May in FieraMilano. Focus on the processing of cheese and dairy products and on systems for preparing, filling and distributing food liquids and other liquid forms.

    The positive economic situation that characterizes the plastics industry (see box) is confirmed by the forecast growth in attendance at PLAST 2015 (the International Plastics and Rubber Industries Fair organized by Promaplast Srl.) and its “satellite shows” Rubber and 3D Plast, scheduled in Milan in conjunction with the opening week of EXPO, May 5 to 9 next.
